After-Hours Clinic

We recognize that urgent medical issues can arise outside of regular office hours.

If you are a patient of any provider within the Minto-Mapleton Family Health Organization and you require medical advice about an urgent healthcare concern AND you cannot access your own doctor or nurse practitioner,  the Mapleton Health Centre is now offering an After-Hours Clinic on Thursdays from 5pm to 8pm.

The purpose of this clinic is to see urgent/semi-urgent concerns that require in person assessment but perhaps do not quite meet the requirements of an Emergency Room visit. 

This clinic is booked on a first come, first served basis. 

APPROPRIATE urgent medical concerns for the after-hours clinic can include: 

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs/bladder infections)
• Ear infections
• Strep throat
• Rashes
• A recent illness that is worsening
• A sick child
• More than 48 hours of fever/vomiting/diarrhea in adults. 

Concerns NOT APPROPRIATE for the after-hours clinic (not urgent) but that should be seen during regular clinic hours with your primary care provider include:

•  Follow-ups
• Routine immunizations
• Chronic conditions with no worsening or recent change
• Prescription renewals
• Form completion

Concerns NOT APPROPRIATE for the after-hours clinic but best assessed in the EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT (ER) include:

• Chest pain or pressure
• Trouble breathing
• Severe bleeding that won't stop
• Broken Bones
• Deep cuts or wounds requiring sutures
• Head injury or trauma 
• Severe burns
• Sudden and severe headache, dizziness, weakness, or trouble seeing or speaking

1. Booking is open from 4pm - 7pm on Thursdays.
   
2. Call (519)638-3088 ext. 2 to book an appointment.
   
3. DO NOT come to the clinic without an appointment. This is NOT a walk in clinic and you will not be seen.
   
4. The phones will no longer be answered once the clinic is full.
